Party Cancelled!!
November 06, 2006

After going through a whole month of Ramadan and then a whole two weeks of family and Eid festivities, you just need to vent and party! I know Im in Kuwait and these events are illlegal but they are all done underground so where is the harm in that. Thats not the point! The point is that because of all these restrictions, the party last week got cancelled and there was supposed to be a pretty big one this week too, and when I say big I mean BIG, and it too was cancelled "due to security reasons"!!!!! Usually I never talk about those parties cos of security reasons but some people cant keep their big mouth shut and forget where they are and start talking about it to everyone till the wrong people know about it and pull strings to stop it. This sucks! I am at the peak of being pissed off! Everyone in the country wants to party so why not just give up and open up the country and rid us of all the headache that having fun is illegal. And please nobody reply with "do u need to party and drink to have fun?" During the week we go to coffee houses and restaurants but the weekend requires a stress relief event and drinking coffee does NOT help! One thing is for sure, I am not staying home nor am I going to a coffee shop for my weekend night off!

Its a sad state of affair.. They should open it up to control it! It has no real affect on me, but I have reached the point where I provide my own sources of entertainment, but they need to open up venues.. no bookes, no movies, movies in movie theaters are horribly edited, no clubs, no lounges, and not even a damn decent race track!

I understand how you feel, you dont need to drink to have fun, but damn here THERE IS NO OPENING FOR FUN! and your better off controlling the alcohol around the place then trying to track down the people selling it illegaly who want to keep it illegal because of the rediculous profit margins! What a vicious circle!

Amen and Amen brother. Everyone's doing it, they should regulate it and make it available.

Very true dude. Those close minded idiots just don't seem to understand the notion that 'stress relief' - is an essential component of life.

Some people go to the gym, some for long walks - others to have a damn good night of fun and partying.

I try to do a bit of all of them!

warda. u would like that, wouldnt u?:P

purg. if it has vodka in it, i wouldnt mind :D

marzouq. exactly!! how long do they expect us to go to cafes and restaurants?!? and its as u said, they r better off controlling the amount at which it is taken than to try capturing smugglers when we all know who smuggles them. then again, ur right maybe those smugglers dont want it to be legalized cos fo the crazy profits they are making!

    L. amen brother!

Toxy. exactly man. i try to do a bit of everything too but there comes a point where u just want to fry ur brain cells and stop thinking. Relief from the world and all its bullshit.

anonymous. slow down man.... lets not sound greedy ;)

    Nothing is perfect.
I can go to nightclubs anytime I want but it has nothing to do with the excitement I felt before going to one of these illegal parties in Kuwait. You must take me to one of those the next time I will be there.

blue ice. u got a point when it comes to that excitement feeling but imagine the downer u go through when u r looking forward to a party every week on the weekend and then it is cancelled. back in lebanon we had the same opportunities as u do in france and yet were always excited before a night out.

as for taking u to a party when ur here...... HELL YEAH!!!! :D u got it! when r u planning on visiting?
