I saw this pic and it brought back memories of the days back in Lebanon when we used to calculate how much we spend on gas, use a car with the least gas consumption, always putting aside a certain amount monthly for gas expenses, do stuff like car-pooling to save gas, avoid kick-downs and lots of other stuff. I remember many times I would drive for long distances with my eye on the gas guage freaking out that the car might die on me any minute! :) Gas consumption used to drive us mad there, not to mention the ridiculously high prices. Luckily, that is one thing we dont have to worry about in Kuwait since income is confortable and gas prices are cheap. Yet I loved driving there. Damn I miss Lebanon :P

Hey Fonz, I am using FireFox to browse your site and I can never see the comments section. It's always blacked out - I have to highlight it to view it OR click on the comments section and go into the Blogger software...any idea if your site is only IE compatible?

    Hi Fonz,

Where did you DJ in Lebanon?

I used to DJ back when I lived in the UK (late 80's through the mid 90's) through the best of the Rave House years.

What kind of stuff do you play?

    Hey Skunk,

What kind of project are you putting together dude?

    hey toxy.

i started playing in 96 at this pub called blues alley. started off simple with RnB & hip hop and stuff and slowly moved up to garage, then for a short while trance and now House & Rave. I am addicted to House music. Its all i listen to. I played in Lebanon in over half the pubs in monot street, some of the top nightclubs like Fubar & Egzit, not to mention the dozens beach parties and house parties. My biggest gigg was a beach party for 1700 people. How about u? UK Djs are known to be some of top mixers. Always loved the way u guys mix not to mention ur taste in music.

    toxy and fonz:

i've been messing with music production for a couple of years now with ableton live. since you guys are DJ's you must have heard of it.
i just picked up an mpc which is a sampler, and what i do right now would be called indie/experimental hiphop of sorts.

basically i sample just about everything apart from songs, and attempt to turn them into compositions. (my airconditioner switching on and off was tweaked into a bass line :P )

ideally i really want to meet up with as many musicians and vocalists as i can to sample them as well. lol so spread the word! church choirs classical ethnic anything.

but as far as DJ's go, have a look at this on youtube:

if you guys like what you see let me know and maybe we can sort something out, get some practice in and go live someday :P

Im working two jobs, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, and a third project is on the way, which will be a great hit if it works out and i sleep max 5 hours a day. Its a chilled life, mostly work, and occasional outings. In Kuwait, I use my brain cells, then go to Lebanon and burn them:D But one fact remains unchanged and will always be.... I MISS LEBANON!!!!!
