Source of Traffic I
November 21, 2006
Looking outside my window from my office on the 12th floor :P, I see some traffic building up and for the first time I could see the cause of the traffic. So following the traffic to its source, this is what I see:
A DAMN PEDESTRIAN!!!
Goes to show traffic in this country is due to the dumbest reasons!

Disoriented
November 15, 2006

Working hours at the bank head office end at 2:30 but yesterday I walked out ay 7:30 in the evening so thats 12 hours of non-stop analysis of numbers and writing of financial reports, except for the hour I killed blogging:P Anyway, I had not had anything to eat except some biscuits in the morning so I passed by Jabriyah on my way home to pick up a sandwich for me and my dad, who for some reason likes Naif. So I went along with him. I parked next to Naif and walked into the place and started checking out the menu. Keep in mind that I worked 12 hours and had nothing to eat all day and was feeling very disoriented :P I was actually impressed cos I saw burger combos and hot dogs and stuff and was thinking "since when does Naif serve beef?" So I ordered what I wanted to order in the first place, chicken fillet combo, paid for it, and went outside to make a phone call while I waited for the food. I was pacing around talking on the phone with Soomi and I look up and I see Naif like 20 meters away. I WAS IN HARDEES!!!!! Damn I felt stupid!! :D

Me the Hero :P
October 31, 2006

I am a hero!!! I went outside on the stairs to smoke a cigarette and there was smoke everywhere! Some retard threw his cigarette into a garbage bin full of papers and it ignited. So when I went outside there was literally a clod of smoke so thick you cant even see the stairs. So, the courageous fire-fighter that I am, I felt my way through and found the source of the fire. Ran to the kitchen and got a glass of water and went back outside. I extinguished the fire and everyone was cheering me and carrying me on their shoulders and screaming out my name :P

Note: This story is a little exagerrated to meet imagination requirements ;) in other words, there was a small fire in the bin and I threw some water on it.... the rest is bullshit. I just wanted to share this!

KFC Finally Faces Facts
I guess KFC finally woke up to the fact that their junk food is slowly killing people around the world. I read an article today about KFC announcing that it will stop using artery-clogging fats. The proposal would have taken an especially harsh toll on KFC, but the company said that by next April, all 5,500 of its U.S. restaurants will have switched from trans fat-rich partially hydrogenated vegetable oil to a new soybean oil believed to be less likely to cause heart disease. I have not had KFC in the longest time but when I came to Kuwait, the smell of the fried chicken got me once and I was tempted; so I tried it and I remembered why I stopped eating it in the first place...... its nasty!! Doesnt look like chicken, doesnt taste like chicken, not even properly cooked, raw from the inside, gives you a major stomach ache, you lose your appetite for the rest of the day. I boycott this place again! Anyway, check the article. {More}

Iad & the Taxi
October 16, 2006
Last night was a small gathering for a friend, Iad. We all gathered up at Astra Lounge to bid him farewell, as he is leaving to Lebanon for good this morning. The only problem is that he wasnt there!!!! LOL..... poor guy got stuck with a cab driver who doesnt know the roads too well and ended up driving Iad in circles and never got there. We got there at 10:15 and left at 12:00 but.... no Iad:P He was very VERY pissed off and just went back home cos there was no point in coming anymore. I mean what the hell is up with the cab drivers in this country.... isnt it enough that they suck as drivers!! Now, people have to worry about getting to where they want to go?!? Make sure you ask the driver if he knows where you want to go before getting into the car with him, cos once you are in, you're stuck!! Sorry man, wish we could have seen you before you left. Best of luck man and we all envy you for going back to Lebanon!!

Cars on Sidewalks!
October 11, 2006

This morning traffic was incredibly crazy. I mean its one thing when people are rushing to get to work, but its another thing when they lose it and do crazy shit. I took pics of some people who decided to make their own lane on the sidewalks!!! Hehe... i was shocked and cracking up at the same time! I mean where are the pedestrians supposed to go now?

Davidoff in Kuwait
Ok, Davidoff is the classiest type of cigarettes in the market, thats known and a given. And its only natural that they have some kind of image of being high-class. But I think they overdid it with the cameras. I know they got expensive pipes and lighters and stuff, but still the cameras are not necessary. I guess its the image they are looking for.

Fasting Abuse

This morning while waiting on the never-ending traffic light next to my house, a small accident happened where one guy tried to cut in line and ended up hitting another car. Naturally, they both got out of the cars and the debate started on whose fault it was. It doesnt need a genious to figure it out, the guy cutting (lets call him A) was to be blamed 100% but he wouldnt take it and kept arguing. He kept trying to shut the other guy (B) up by telling him he has work to do and doesnt have time for this. The other guy also had work to get to. It was calm until A asked B "Are you christian or muslim?!?" So B gets very pissed off and asks the same question in return so A says, "I'm muslim, fasting, and need to get to work! You dont care, you're christian!" So A gets into his car and drives off, which was when the light turned green. I also moved on then but did see B taking down the plate number of A's car.

Point is: Because its Ramadan, does fasting count as an excuse for being stupid, breaking and violating the law, and disrespecting other peoples' rights? HELL NO!! I'm muslim, and I fast, and I say to all those "muslims":

If you can't take the heat, stay out of the fire.

Ok, Stallion corrected me. The quote is actually:

If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Faded Amir Photo
September 28, 2006
While stopped at a traffic light this morning, there was this van parked in front of me with the picture of the late Amir on the rear glass. Ok, for starter I am against those posters cos they block the whole rear view and could cause accidents and I believe they put them only to kiss ass; if it were for something they believed in, a small sticker would do, no need to cover the whole glass. Second, if you are gonna put it up, at least show some respect and do it right, put a proper new clean one up!! This one has been there for so long in the sun, it has faded. Not only is it stupid putting it up, its more stupid being so unattractive.

Reckless Father
September 26, 2006
Today while stuck in traffic, I saw this and immediately snapped a pic. People like this piss me off. dont they realize how dangerous it is to have your kid on your lap while driving. The slightest brake and the kid will be flying out the window. The father is simply reckless, ignorant, and stupid.

Hypocrite
September 05, 2006
Previously I posted about how hot it was on "Mom is Back" and I got this comment from some anonymous user:

"its amazing how you lebanese act as if you making kuwait a favor by living here, the airport is on the 6th ring road, take the first flight to your trash pit aka lebanon and spare us"

Sita answered back: "I'm not sure any of us acted like we are doing Kuwait a favor for being here! I do think they were talking about the weather. But We're sorry if there is something about "us lebanese" that is intimidating to you. At least your message certainly sounds like you are intimidated by something. You do realise most of us are here by choice, freedom to choose were to live and what to do is a good thing, and if we don't like the weather sometimes, it doesn't mean we will call Kuwait a trash pit, the way you insulted our country. Oh and BTW, since you have obviously never been lucky enough to visit Lebanon, I pity you. You've missed out."

Hehe.... you dont wanna know my reply:P I agree totally with what Sita said. And another thing is that its in people's nature to complain. Yes, we are all thankful to the fact that we have proper jobs in Kuwait, which Lebanon can not offer at the time-being, but there are many things in the country we find hard to get accustomed to. This goes to show that there are some locals who detest the idea of having foreigners in their country. Personally, the locals I know here are some of the best people I have ever met and have become very close friends, but there are always some assholes like this guy who show racism and hatred to foreigners. I bet anything this same guy heads to Lebanon whenever he gets the chance to get drunk and go clubbing.

Israel - "We Are Untouchable"
August 21, 2006
I read this article and had to share it. I believe that those running the Israeli government, under that supposed "peace-seeking" exterior, think exactly as this article says. It was written by Tanya Carolina Hsu, a British Political Analyst. The article appeared on August 4, 2006 in the Arab News, a leading English Language Daily in the Middle East.

We are Israel. We are untouchable. No matter what we do the international community will not act against us. Oh, there will be talks at the United Nations but we know that the United States will intervene on our behalf. There will be Arab League discussions but we know that no state will take action against us. There will be mass protests and demonstrations; there will be activists and advocates begging for peace; there will be rallies and fundraisers to help the targets of our bombs. And we know that nothing will make a difference because we are Jews - we are victims of the Holocaust. We have suffered such that we have the right to make the rest of the world pay (even though organised Zionism officially declared war on Germany in 1933, long before Hitler's Final Solution). Because we are victims.

Yes, we know that people all over the world have suffered worse crimes than ours, but they were not the Chosen People. We know that over 22 million Russians were killed under Stalin, 15 million Chinese killed by the Japanese, millions elsewhere in the world who suffer the same fate in the bloodiest 20th century. We know that Zionism is an athiest Marxist creation using Judaism as its weapon; that we were founded upon terrorism and our leaders became Israel's prime ministers and Nobel Peace Prize winners; that less than 10% of Jews worldwide supported the Zionist cause for decades until WWII. We know that the crimes committed by Hitler equally affected Communists, gypsies, the handicapped, and political prisoners.

That does not matter - we are special. The rest of the world will not touch us because they are terrified of the label "anti-Semite". World leaders: terrified of this most glorious ad hominem even though we are mostly not Semitic people. Jews of Israel, the Sephardim Jews, were almost non existant when we arrived from Russia, Poland, Austria, Hungary and elsewhere in the 20th century and demanded Arab land. They had spread out and moved on. We did not come from Yemen, Ethiopia or Iraq, but who cares? We are the victims and that is all that counts.

Time and again we wonder at how far American gullibility will take us. We push it to the limits on cable television and get away with it repeatedly. We know that the majority of the world is aware we blatantly lie when we express our "deepest regrets" because "terrorists" were hiding in the villages we destroy. We even have the gall to pick the precise same targets as a decade ago, ignoring the cries of outrage from America and the West. We'll just repeat the mantra "a tragic mistake".

Honestly, we, too, are rather surprised to see that America patiently sits back and buys our words each time. We have trained our diplomats well, not only in the art of deception to the media, but by using powerful strong arm behind the scenes tactics to mold the views of US Congressmen and women in our favour. We have worked on this for decades and it has been perfected for the one place it counts: our bank America. We rely upon those weapons; we need to create constant conflict so as to receive a perpetual $13 billion annual aid package from the US, including unsecured loans that we have never been, nor ever will be, required to pay back. We are living a dream: what we want is given to us on a silver patter because we are Jews, and we have the Holocaust.

The above is only daring in that it is never voiced publicly in the West. The world is watching as Israel incinerates the Lebanese. Diplomats call for peace, a cease -fire, and negotiations. They speak the language of non committance. It takes a few brave men and women in leadership positions to dare to speak the truth; losing that AIPAC support in government is the kiss of death, and academics who dare write the facts know that their tenured careers are over. Israel is in the position of dominating the US government to an extent never before seen in history, creating a regime who will fully fund a "new Middle East" which in reality means Eretz Israel consisting of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, northern Saudi Arabia and even Cyprus by some accounts. There is nothing speculative about these plans for hegemony - everything has been laid out, written down, and presented for years.

This war will not end with a cease-fire next week. This war will not end with a security zone controlled by the UN. This war will not end if Hezbollah and Hamas disappeared tomorrow. This war will not end as long as leaders and diplomats continue to fear the trump card charge of anti-Semitism by Israel.

So, when hundreds of children are torn apart by uranium tipped missiles provided courtesy of the US government, look in the mirror. Have you dared to offend Israel? Have you risked? Ask yourself what role you may have played in contributing to this global disaster. Nothing will change until you do.

Rules of Politics
August 12, 2006
The rules of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS when it comes to the Israeli-Arab conflict:

Rule # 1: In the Middle East, it is always the Arabs that attack first, and it's always Israel who defends itself. This is called "retaliation".

Rule # 2: The Arabs, whether Palestinians or Lebanese, are not allowed to kill Israelis. This is called "terrorism"

Rule # 3: Israel has the right to kill Arab civilians; this is called "self-defense", or these days "collateral damage".

Rule # 4: When Israel kills too many civilians. The Western world calls for restraint. This is called the "reaction of the international community".

Rule # 5: Palestinians and Lebanese do not have the right to capture Israeli military, not even a limited number, not even 1 or 2.

Rule # 6: Israel has the right to capture as many Palestinians as they want (Palestinians: around 10000 to date, 300 of which are children, Lebanese: 1000s to date, being held without trial). There is no limit; there is no need for proof of guilt or trial. All that is needed is the magic word: "terrorism"

Rule # 7: When you say "Hezbollah", always be sure to add "supported by Syria and Iran"

Rule # 8: When you say "Israel", never say "supported by the USA, the UK and other European countries", for people (God forbid) might believe this is not an equal conflict

Rule # 9: When it comes to Israel, don't mention the words "occupied territories", "UN resolutions", "Geneva conventions". This could distress the audience of Fox.

Rule # 10: Israelis speak better English than Arabs. This is why we let them
Speak out as much as possible, so that they can explain rules 1 through 9. This is called "neutral journalism".

Rule # 11: If you don't agree with these rules or if you favor the Arab side over the Israeli side, you must be a very dangerous anti-Semite. You may even have to make a public apology if you express your honest opinion (isn't democracy wonderful?)

Italy is Reponsible
August 07, 2006
This is funny. Any Lebanese who was cheering for Italy during the world cup, know that Italy is involved in the invasion of Lebanon by Israel. Why? Because.....................

In 1982, Italy won the world cup and Israel invaded Lebanon

In 2006, Italy won the world cup and Israel invaded Lebanon

Message to all Lebanese people:

Next time Italy wins the world cup, we all go immediately down to the shelters!

Coincidence????? Who knows!!! :P

Cock War!?!
August 06, 2006
They say that the purpose of the War on Lebanon is to untimately have ever-lasting peace in the region. Few days ago, France and the U.S. had a peace talk and agreed on a draft U.N. resolution to put a stop to the violence by early next week. I was relieved when they finally committed to stop the war. But I feel this is just the beginning and it wont end here, I hope I'm wrong. Anyway, if you noticed, both Israel and Hezbollah intensified their attacks during the past few days, since the peace talks took place. Each of them wants to come out of this war "victorious". Each wants to show the rest of the world which of them is stronger. Its no longer a war for peace and freedom. Its a war of ego. Its a Cock War!!
