USB Beverage Chiller |
November 06, 2006 |

This is a cool accessory to have with your PC. It is called the USB beverage chiller introduced by Cool IT Systems. I am one of those people who always needs a cold drink beside him, and recently its been Red Bull. So it would be cool to have one of these:) With the stuff they are coming up with, they better start assembling systems with a dozen USB ports. Labels: Innovations, Interesting |

New Advertising Medium |
October 29, 2006 |
While at Souk Sharq yesterday I noticed this new device at display outside Starbucks at Souk Sharq. It didn't have any advertisements posted but from the pics you can figure out how it works. Basically, pictures are placed on the transparent area on top which rotates at varying speeds. It has slots for four pictures and I guess with the speed it could look like a short film. I called Fady from Impact BBDO when I saw this and as usual, he had me picture it since he is always on the look-out for new advertising innovations. Labels: Advertising, Innovations, Photography |

You Know What This Is? |
October 28, 2006 |
You can see this in the Radisson SAS Hotel in Kuwait in the main lobby. I read about it last Thursday when I visited the hotel and was very interesting to know more about it and how it works. Will update this post tomorrow about what it is called, how it was made, and how it works. Click here if you want to see photos of the hotel (Its a flickr account I ran into while browsing) Labels: Innovations, outings |

Rampurple Update |
October 15, 2006 |
One of my favorite blogs that I visit on a daily basis belongs to Rampurple. She has recently updated the template of her blog and has introduced a new and very funky and interesting idea. Other than her changing the template design and color, the most important change was the header. Check out her blog and her latest post on the blog update. Labels: Bloggers, Friends, Innovations |

Crystal J |
|
I was at Al Koot Mall in Fahaheel a few days ago and came across this place. Its been there for a while and I was checking out what they do. What they do is engrave a picture into a glass crystal using laser; it takes 20-30 minutes depending on the size of the crytal. Its a funky idea and a lot of people were actually standing in line to get one done.

Procrealligence |
October 10, 2006 |

Yesterday I posted " Vocab Skill Test" asking if anyone knew what does Procrealligence mean. I got several answers but were wrong. Until Izzi actually browsed the net looking for the word and finally found it. Read the comments on post. Procrealligence actually is an abbreviation for: Pro: Pro-activity Crea: Creativity Lligence: Intelligence This new word was introduced by Impact BBDO. It is one of the top advertising agencies in the Middle East, whose main offices are in Dubai, and have offices in Kuwait too. The pictures above are at the Kuwait offices, where I have friends working (namely Fady). Get used to this word because one day you will be using it in a sentence or something as it will be in the dictionaries next year. Labels: Innovations, Photography, Talents |

Trippy Clock at Souk Sharq |
|
Also at Souk Sharq, I always enjoy passing by where Starbucks is to look at this clock. I think it is one of the funkiest things I have seen. I'm sure everyone has seen it and know what I'm talking about. I always sit there and stare at it trying to figure out the mechanism by which it works. I have figured out most of it:) Labels: Innovations, Kuwait |

Hint 1: Has to do with advertising. Hint 2: The picture is a hint.

Arab To Love - Arabic Hi5 |
October 02, 2006 |
I think they are overdoing it with all these dating sites. Right now, the most popular are hi5, cupidbay, and mate1. Well, they could help but the problem is that nobody is taking them seriously. I mean they out up pics of their shoes or car or something and want to have as many virtual friends as possible but not talk to any. I admit when I first came to Kuwait, I knew nobody and wanted to meet people so resorted to hi5 to try and meet people. I used it for several months but it was useless. Hi5 was full of freaks and weirdos, and when I tried to talk to normal people, they would think I am a freak or weirdo :P Still, it is a fun experience. Point is there is now an arabic hi5 and no its not "Hat Khamsa" (as Iad sarcastically commented)! hehe. Check it out here. Labels: Fun Stuff, Innovations |

New Tires from Michelin |
August 10, 2006 |
These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires:)
Just think of the impact on existing technology: (1) no more air valves (2) no more air compressors at gas stations (3) no more repair kits These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin. It will be awhile before they are available to the automotive industry.
