Me the Hero :P |
October 31, 2006 |
I am a hero!!! I went outside on the stairs to smoke a cigarette and there was smoke everywhere! Some retard threw his cigarette into a garbage bin full of papers and it ignited. So when I went outside there was literally a clod of smoke so thick you cant even see the stairs. So, the courageous fire-fighter that I am, I felt my way through and found the source of the fire. Ran to the kitchen and got a glass of water and went back outside. I extinguished the fire and everyone was cheering me and carrying me on their shoulders and screaming out my name :P
Note: This story is a little exagerrated to meet imagination requirements ;) in other words, there was a small fire in the bin and I threw some water on it.... the rest is bullshit. I just wanted to share this!

Whats Up With the Connection Today?!? |
|
For some reason the internet connection sucks today. Its taking forever to load. Its very frustating and it always happens when there is something important I need to do. And its not only me, apparently everyone is having the same problem. Update: What happened yesterday was due to a "fiber between dammam and riyadh was cut this morning at around 9.38...this made links slow down as they had to find an alternate route, whichs always slow...it bounced back at 3.45" as stated by CyberRowdy. KFC Finally Faces Facts |
|
I guess KFC finally woke up to the fact that their junk food is slowly killing people around the world. I read an article today about KFC announcing that it will stop using artery-clogging fats. The proposal would have taken an especially harsh toll on KFC, but the company said that by next April, all 5,500 of its U.S. restaurants will have switched from trans fat-rich partially hydrogenated vegetable oil to a new soybean oil believed to be less likely to cause heart disease. I have not had KFC in the longest time but when I came to Kuwait, the smell of the fried chicken got me once and I was tempted; so I tried it and I remembered why I stopped eating it in the first place...... its nasty!! Doesnt look like chicken, doesnt taste like chicken, not even properly cooked, raw from the inside, gives you a major stomach ache, you lose your appetite for the rest of the day. I boycott this place again! Anyway, check the article. { More} Labels: Interesting, News, Sarcasm |

This is the first time I look up at the sky during the day and dont get blinded. Dont mean to sound like the romantic guy who sheds a tear by a beautiful sunset but this was quite a view to look at!

Energy Drinks Taking Over |
October 30, 2006 |
We all know what Red Bull is and that there are dozens of other kinds of energy drinks in the market. What we didnt know, at least I didnt know, is that during 2006 more than 500 new energy drinks have been introduced into the market worldwide. These drinks have become an international addiction, I am one of those people. But I am excused for using it, since I work at least 10 hours a day and need something to stay awake. But you got people who abuse it and drink 3 or 4 in a row gulping them in one go each to get some sort of buzz. In the U.S. alone, 7.6 million teenagers today drink energy drinks. When abused, it has a lot of negative consequences and are therefore being fought by nutritionists all over the world. For example, in France, Red Bull is considered illegal cos of the active ingredient tanaurine. { More} Labels: News |

This is FREAKY! |
|
Yesterday I saw the cutest cat and decided to take a picture. After clicking the camera and the flash going off, and the picture taken this is what I got. I freaked out when I saw the picture. Well I didnt really freak out, but it did get me thinking about how they say that cats are demon creatures and all that. Personally I think they are the funniest creatures and are fun to play with and I know it is all a reflection of the flash but this pic definitely stands out!

I ran out of cigarettes yesterday and was driving around Hawally and Salmiya to many of those small shops but none have. I know they got them in the bigger supermarkets but the traffic was crazy and it would have taken me forever. So now I am smoking Marlboros, I hate Marlboros but they are the closest to Gitanes. Dont know why those small places dont sell these cigs, they are the best! Labels: personal, Shopping |

New Advertising Medium |
October 29, 2006 |
While at Souk Sharq yesterday I noticed this new device at display outside Starbucks at Souk Sharq. It didn't have any advertisements posted but from the pics you can figure out how it works. Basically, pictures are placed on the transparent area on top which rotates at varying speeds. It has slots for four pictures and I guess with the speed it could look like a short film. I called Fady from Impact BBDO when I saw this and as usual, he had me picture it since he is always on the look-out for new advertising innovations. Labels: Advertising, Innovations, Photography |

Recognition!! :D |
|
Marzouq sent me this morning a site linking to an article on Kuwait Times about bloggers in Kuwait. Several bloggers were mentioned. There were several kuwaiti bloggers and two (2) expat bloggers in Kuwait. One of those two bloggers was me!!!!! Wow.... felt great to see that my blog has spread and mentioned in the papers! I was honestly shocked! :) The author of this article, Velina Nacheva, had pretty interesting things to see about the mentioned bloggers; I for one checked out the blogs she spoke of. I recommend you check the article. { More} Note: Thanks Marzouq for the link!Labels: personal |

Hoagen Dazs |
|
Last night it was pretty humid and fely an urge for ice cream. So I head to my favorite ice cream pla ce.... Hoagen Dazs! Went to Souk Sharq and locally there was no traffic. My dad wanted to see something at the fish market so that kinda ruined my appetite cos as soon as he opened the car door, the smell rushed in and was stuck in my nose for hours......... yeah, if you haven't noticed.. I hate fish!! Anyway, I ordered what they call the "Tiramisu Del Ice" or something like that. Its basically three scoops of coffee, tiramisu, and caramel topped with chocolate sauce and nuts of some sort, forgot what they are called. I am a "parlines 'n' cream" person myself but tiramisu also rocks! Hoagen Dazs rules! Labels: outings, Reviews |

My Blog..... Updated |
|
After my latest post asking people for feedback, I got a lot of constructive comments. Thanks guys for the tips. I took them all seriously since most of those that commented have been blogging way longer than I have and know what they are talking about. So here we are...... I tuned as much as possible and made it a lot less blue, barely any blue noticeable actually. I think it is more readable and more attractive now. Still as busy but it doesnt show it as much. I know it needs more work, but right now I cant be bothered trying to decipher any more HTML; hasnt been easy especially since I am a beginner at HTML. Ok... now I welcome more feedback and again would love to hear your comments and opinions! Thanks :)

My New Blog |
October 28, 2006 |
Been working on this new template for the past few days. Its not complete yet but with time, will update it to be as good and better than my previous one. It does involve a lot of html so it wont be easy to work with. I wanted a new look with a new theme and this is what I came up with:) I personally like it a lot and believe there is a lot I can do with it. Best feature are the three columns which is one of the main reasons I decided to change. Any feedback? Would love to hear what you think of it!

Mughal Mahal |
|
Friday for lunch, we head to Mughal Mahal for lunch. This is an indian food restaurant located in the Sharq area. It was my first time trying Indian food. I have always avoided trying this food mainly cos I heard that it is very spicy food and I am VERY sensitive to spicy stuff. But I decided to venture and try it out cos been hearing a lot about it recently. I loved the food and was impressed by the way the food was prepared. I tried the lamp chops, on the left, and a bite of fish, on the right. I did, however, leave lit like a light bulb cos of the spices :P
Pros: (1) Amazing Food (2) Very hygeinic (3) Appetizing presentation of dishes (4) Light food (5) Welcoming hospitality (6) Fast Service
Cons: (1) Too spicy (2) Cooking smell reaks (3) Have to wait for a table so I advise you to reserve
Woud I Go There Again? Ocassionaly, when I feel like blowing out fire :)
Note: They will be opening a new branch in Hawally, Beirut Street, soon.

Dream Interpretation Test |
|
Recently I have been doing a lot of these tests just for the fun of it and to feed my curiousity as to what the conclusions with turn out to be. This new test is to interpret your dreams.
This is what I got:
"The recurrent theme of your dream life is You're dreaming about maximizing opportunities and achieving well-deserved success. This means that in some area of your waking life, you are adequately prepared and things are working out just the way you want"

Me Weekend |
|
What a loooooong weekend. I spent most of it with family since it is their last weekend before leaving. Tomorrow my mom, my uncle, and his wife will be heading to Lebanon. I envy them:( So this past weekend I was literally a driver and took them almost all over Kuwait. Barely got any sleep nor rest and today am at work feeling like zombie. I did however manage to check out a lot of new places and take a bunch of interesting pictures which I will post soon. Looking forward to next weekend when it is about me and what I want to do. Been since before Ramadan that I partied and got a lot of catching up to do!

Are You Psychic? |
October 26, 2006 |
Take this test and find out your psychic strength. This is what I got: This means you have an uncanny ability to look into the future and know ahead of time what is going to happen. You might, for instance, simply know that you're going to get that job before the interview even happens with a certainty that exceeds what you would expect to have simply knowing the facts of the situation. You might have a sense of dread before going out for the evening only to later have a flat tire on your way home. These little hunches are easy to ignore but for you especially, quite often lead to a true prediction of what is going to happen. These predictions can be used to generate positive outcomes, and the more you know about how to use your talent, the more you will be able to distinguish between fantasy of the future and an actual reality you are seeing happen, before it has actually happened.
While my strongest psychic talent is Precognition, I also have psychic strengths in: - Retrocognition: The ability to know what happened in the past.
- Clairvoyance: The ability to "see" the unknown.
- Remote viewing: The ability to see physical objects at a distance.
- Telepathy: The ability to tune into others' thoughts.

My Day at Bnaider |
|
Yesterday, the family and I were invited to Bnaider to a friend's chalet to spend the day and so we did. I was driving for over 45 minutes and the road felt like it had no end, damn it was far. I love driving, but when it is a straight road with nothing but sand on your left and right, you gotta feel sleepy at some point. But it felt good being able to step on the gas pedal going 170 all the way:) I must say I was impressed by the chalet area. Each chalet is more luxorious than the one next to it, and each had its own private area on the beach that people can just hang out and do whatever they want without having to worry about who is watching. People go there to escape society and all its headaches; sounds perfect to me! We spent the day there, had lunch there, spent the evening just chit chatting and catching up on old times. Felt amazing being able to have a meal in the outdoors without frying our brains from the sun. The beach looked incredible too, the water was very calm and looked very clean. First time in Kuwait I see such clean waters. The only problem was the humidity. Also, would be great if I can do a party there :P

Back to 7:30 a.m. |
|
Well its over. Coming to work at 9:30 a.m. is no more. Today I woke up at 6:00 a.m. to be at work by 7:30. And I tell you, it was not pleasant!! I had 3 alarms on and nothing would wake me up, I even had people calling me to wake me and still nothing! It was hard getting out of bed. Whats worse is that it was pretty dark outside which made things tougher. So I am at work now yawning like crazy, had a coffee and a red bull and still nothing! I dont even know why they got us to work today!! There is nobody here; almost the whole bank is absent and there are no customers coming in. My boss isnt even here. Yaaaaaaaaaawn :P All I see in front of me is a bed! Its gonna be a tough winter, thats for sure. Labels: personal, Work |

Fady Back From London |
October 25, 2006 |
Fady was away during the past few days in England. He was supposed to meet up with two friends there but it didnt work out for either one so he was gonna cancel the trip. That was when I got pissed off and wanted to kill him! How can you cancel a trip to London cos ur going alone?? I would go in a heart-beat! So I contacted my long best friend, Roland, who is living there and who also knows Fady since we all were in the same uni in Lebanon and told him Fady was coming. Roland is like a brother to me and has always been my party partner! So he did what it took to welcome Fady and show him a great time, and from what I have heard............ I WISH I WAS THERE!!! They went to Ministry of Sound !!!!! Damn I'm jealous! He got back this morning and spoke to him and he is sounding very refreshed. Glad you had a good time bro. Welcome back and get your ass back to work now :P Labels: Friends |

100 Dollar Bill |
|
My uncle and wife are visiting us from Lebanon; they have been here for the past two weeks and I have been very busy taking them out and showing them around. One thing about this uncle is that he has always spoiled me ever since I was a kid:) I thought I was done with the whole Eidiyah thing ages ago. But on the first day of Eid, my uncle surprised me when he gave me a $100 bill! LOL...... I was shocked. It had been ages since I saw a $100 bill, ever since I left Lebanon 1 year 1 month and 12 days ago :P So when I saw it, I was sucked into memory lane remembering the good old times in Lebanon. Its only worth 30K.D. and I dont want to sound like a spoiled brat, but 30 K.D. does not sound as amazing as $100 :) Damn I miss Lebanon! Labels: Family, lebanon, personal |

Now that you have seen the outside view, check it out from the inside............
That is made entirely out of one-way glass, no one can see you in there. Keeping that in mind, I wonder........... Would you use it?!?!? :)
